“Believe it or not, Calgary Pride has already begun planning for our 2020 year. This year we saw unprecedented growth, as over 260k people engaged during Pride week with close to 100K taking part in the parade and festival. Statistically, this makes us not only the 4th largest in Canada, but the fastest-growing, and with next year being our 30th anniversary, we have no doubt we will continue to set record highs for increased attendance.

We as an organization believe that to continue to support this growth, it is important that we provide opportunities for learning to the public at large, and organizations alike with tools to engage authentically with the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The Ally Toolkit conference is just that.

Offered since 2017, this annual event is Calgary’s only LGBTQ2S+ ally-ship conference for corporate, healthcare and community professionals. The Ally Toolkit Conference brings together leading perspectives from the corporate sector, healthcare workers and community organizers to safely answer questions, discuss what ally-ship means in action and equip individuals with important tools to become leaders in creating more equitable communities.

This is a wonderful opportunity for your organization, employees, personal connections, and community members to take part, and we would love to see you there!” – Ally Tool-Kit Conference Team

Saxophonist Joshua Redman is the kind of musical explorer who strikes an elegant balance between pragmatism and possibility. Adept at writing both lyrically and rhythmically, Redman and his bandmates are also seasoned improvisers, resulting in a jazz show the flirts between the familiar and the sensational. Critics and fans have been blown away by his passionate live performances, dubbing Redman as one of the most charismatic artists of our time.

The GRAMMY-nominated Redman performs with his long-time friends and colleagues pianist Aaron Goldberg, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Gregory Hutchinson. Their newest album, Come What May, released in 2019, is the quartet’s first recording in almost two decades.

“Mr. Redman is a supremely affable and flowing improviser, at times a borderline brilliant one, working in a glow of clarity.” – The New York Times
