Alberta police watchdog investigating after Red Deer RCMP officer shoots suspect

RED DEER – An RCMP officer in Red Deer shot a man Tuesday night.
Police say they were called to a break-and-enter around 6 p.m. When they arrived, there was a confrontation between the suspect and officers.
That is when an officer pulled the trigger. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in police custody.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is now looking into what happened.
No officers were hurt.
