Saddledome to go cashless ahead of NHL preseason

CALGARY — It’s been something Calgarians have been wanting for some time, and now it’s finally happening.

The Scotiabank Saddledome is going cashless.

Cashless locations within the ‘Dome will include all concession stands, retail locations and 50/50 ticket sales.

The Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation says although COVID-19 played a role in the decision, feedback from fans ultimately helped them decide cashless was the way to go.

Cashless transactions will now allow for more convenient methods of payment such as credit, debit, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Fans will be able to use the new methods of payment on Sunday, Sept. 26, when the Flames welcome the Edmonton Oilers for a preseason Battle of Alberta.
