MEDICINE HAT (660 NEWS) – Every school in the Medicine Hat School Division is reporting positive COVID-19 cases.
In a release Wednesday night, School Division Superintendent Mark Davidson says over the past week they have been made aware of positive COVID-19 cases in all MHPSD schools.
Davidson says since positive COVID-19 cases continue to trend upward in the community, they expect positive cases will continue to be present in schools.
He adds, the safety of students and staff is a top priority and they continue to be vigilant in their response.
Alberta Health Services is no longer monitoring positive COVID-19 cases in schools, therefore, they are no longer notifying when a positive case is connected to a school.
Close contacts are no longer required to quarantine, AHS is not contact tracing and students are not required to quarantine if there is a case of COVID-19 at school, even if that case is in their classroom.
