AIRDRIE – The school district responsible for schools in Airdrie is changing course on some of its COVID-19 rules this year.

Rocky View Schools says kids will have to wear masks after all.

Previously, the district said this school year would be mostly back to normal with no physical distancing, no staggered starts, and no masks.

Now, all students in all grades, staff, visitors, and volunteers will all have to be masked while in school. Masks can be removed during class time and when eating or participating in physical activity.

Masks are required on buses under the province’s mask mandate, but RVS will not require students or staff to wear masks while they are outside.
