Flash flooding possible south, west of Calgary, warns Environment Canada

OKOTOKS – Environment Canada is warning drivers to watch for flash flooding and pooling water on roadways as the areas south and west of Calgary remain under a rainfall warning.

The weather agency first issued the rainfall warning for Kananaskis, Canmore, Okotoks, and High River on Monday.

It warns that most communities in those areas can expect to see 40 to 50 millimetres of rain, with some places getting up to 70 millimeters.

Environment Canada expects the rain to taper off sometime Tuesday evening.

Wednesday is expected to be sunny with highs around 20 degrees.
