Bo Levi Mitchell doubtful for Week 3 due to injury

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — There was no outdoor Calgary Stampeders practice Monday due to the smoke, and that wasn’t the only piece of bad news coming from McMahon Stadium.

According to head coach Dave Dickenson, quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is doubtful Friday versus Montreal.

“I’m not putting him out there if he doesn’t feel good,” Dickenson told reporters. “He wasn’t doing what he needed to do, and he knows why, and there’s a reason. When Bo’s ready to go, he’s our best option, and we’ll play him.

“If it’s long-term, you’re going to see six-game [injured list]. If it’s week-by-week, game-by-game, then we’ll just play it out.”

Reports say it’s a leg injury.

It’s been a tough start to the 2021 campaign for the veteran pivot, completing just 44 of 73 passes, with one touchdown, while being picked off five times through two games — both losses.

The most recent Calgary depth chart has 25-year-old Canadian QB Michael O’Connor next in line.
