Homicide unit investigating after man found dead in downtown apartment

CALGARY — The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating after a man was found dead inside an apartment complex on Monday.

Around 2:15 p.m., police and EMS were called to do a welfare check at an apartment along 6 Avenue and 2 Street S.E.

A man was found dead inside the apartment it was determined that he had died several days prior to being discovered.

Following an autopsy, the man’s death has been deemed a homicide.

The victim was identified as 42-year-old Michael Donald Lloyd. His cause of death is not being released.
