Vaccine clinic at Telus Convention Centre to close Friday

CALGARY – A mass vaccination clinic in downtown Calgary will close on Friday.

Alberta Health Services announced last week it would be closing some of its mass vaccination clinics in favor of focusing on small community sites.

The clinic at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary will close at 8 p.m. on July 30.

WATCH: Larger vaccine clinics ending in July

“COVID-19 case numbers are significantly lower throughout the province. Demand for immunization continues; however, rapid flow clinics are no longer needed given the increasing percentage of the immunized population,” AHS said in a release last week.

Staff supporting the mass rapid-flow clinics will be transferred to work at smaller AHS immunization clinics where possible.

Smaller immunization clinics in both cities will remain open for Albertans looking to get a shot.

You can also book an appointment to get vaccinated at several local doctor’s offices and pharmacies.
