Shortly after phoning police, HAWCS, along with officers and firefighters on the ground, were able to locate the hiker and bring them to safety.
“We would like to remind everyone enjoying the natural areas in and around our city to please stick to the paths, bring appropriate outdoors clothing, water, and food, travel with friends when possible, and to tell loved ones where you are going and when you intend to be back,” Calgary Police said in a tweet on Tuesday.
