Calgary man’s body recovered from Chestermere Lake

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The body of a man believed to have drowned in Chestermere Lake has been recovered.

RCMP, along with the help of the Central Alberta Rescue Diving Society, recovered the body of a 47-year-old Calgary man just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The body will now be taken to the medical examiner’s office.

Mounties say family of the deceased has been notified and victim services are involved.

On Monday afternoon, two men fell into the water while out with a paddleboard near Anniversary Beach and immediately began to struggle.

Nearby swimmers at the beach were able to rescue one however, the other swimmer went under the water and disappeared.

The survivor was taken to hospital by EMS as a precaution.
