Arson investigators, police looking into suspicious church fire in Forest Lawn

CALGARY – Police are looking into a church possibly being torched over the weekend in the city of Calgary.
This fire happening in Forest Lawn at around 7:30 Sunday night.
Investigators believe the fire is suspicious as it is the latest church to go up in flames.

It is believed the churches have been burned because of backlash to the discovery of hundreds of children’s bodies at residential schools.
The chief of the Assembly of First Nations, the premier, and the prime minister have all condemned the burning of churches saying this is not the path to reconciliation.

This comes as churchgoers in Morinville gathered for their first Sunday mass over the weekend since their house of worship was burnt down last week.
