While emergency crews were dealing with the initial incident, they noticed a boy in a “pool floatie” who was not wearing a lifejacket, capsize in the river.

The boy was then dragged downstream by the current.

Aquatics members were able to catch up to the boy downstream and get him out of the water and deliver him to shore.

These incidents happening not long after a young girl was rescued from Lake Mahogany earlier in the day after she jumped in the lake and failed to re-surface.

The Calgary Fire Department is reminding people to make sure they are prepared before heading into the water as a fun time can turn deadly in a matter of seconds.
