Seth Rogen vase sells for $12,000 at Vancouver auction

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A bright orange vase made by Vancouver actor and comedian Seth Rogen has sold at auction for $12,000.

Rogen donated his creation to the Vancouver Art Gallery’s 2021 Art Auction Spring Forward, and the textured vase fetched more than its estimated $5,000 value.

Records of the bidding show two people went back and forth from $2,000 until the winning $12,000 bid.

Rogen began making his own pottery from his home studio in LA in 2019. His experimental works, many of which are vibrant in colour, have gained widespread praise.

The actor has been sharing some of his pieces on social media, with many asking how they can get their hands on his work.

Rogen was born in Vancouver. The comedian, known for his love and promotion of pot, rose to fame through his various roles in popular films such as Pineapple Express and Knocked Up.

The Vancouver Art Gallery’s 2021 Art Auction took place from June 1 to 15. This year’s event featured work by 32 local and international artists.

Money raised through the auction goes toward supporting the Vancouver Art Gallery’s exhibitions, as well as educational and public programs.
