EDMONTON – Dozens of prizes have been added to the province’s COVID-19 vaccine lottery that will surely scratch the itch of those Albertans looking to travel post-pandemic.

Forty travel prizes from WestJet and Air Canada will be up for grabs for Albertans with both doses of their vaccine by the August draw.

WestJet and Air Canada are both providing a number of vouchers for domestic flights for the winner and a friend.

In addition, each airline is providing a seven-night all-inclusive stay at resorts in Cancun, flights included, for the winner and a friend.

Both are also pitching in points prizes for people who collect Aeroplan points or WestJet dollars.

The window to sign up for the draw that includes these prizes closes Aug. 24 with winners being drawn at the end of that month.

As of Wednesday morning, over a third of vaccinated and eligible Albertans had signed up for the lottery.
