CALGARY (CityNews) — Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for southern Alberta, including Calgary, for Saturday.
The alert also covers the Foothills area.
The weather agency says residents should prepare for strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
The thunderstorm is believed to be moving about 25 km/h and has the potential to “produce severe weather until late this evening,” according to Environment Canada.
The thunderstorm watch was issued Saturday at 1:45 p.m.
