Alberta identifies 391 new cases, five additional deaths

Cases in Alberta seem to be trending in the right direction, with less than 400 new cases announced Sunday.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Alberta reported fewer than 400 new COVID-19 cases in the province’s latest health update on Sunday.

In a series of tweets, Dr. Deena Hinshaw identified 391 new cases on 6,586 tests for a positivity rate of 5.9 per cent.

Hinshaw also reported five additional deaths.

There are currently 446 people in hospital (-32), of which 138 are in intensive care (-2).

Active cases in Alberta now total 8,073 — a decrease of 301.

An additional 39,042 vaccine doses were administered in the province.
