Man dead after Red Deer RCMP involved shooting in hospital parkade

(RED DEER) 660 NEWS — A heavy police presence in central Alberta has left one man dead after an officer involved shooting.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is now investigating the incident at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre
Around 9 p.m. Mounties in Red Deer said they were called to the local hospital after multiple driving complaints in the adjacent parkade.
Once police were able to stop the vehicle, a confrontation ensued between officers and the driver.
ASIRT has been directed to investigate an @RCMPAlberta officer-involved shooting that took place earlier this evening in Red Deer. Details to follow.

Access to the hospital parkade will be restricted while Mounties and ASIRT investigate the incident.
RCMP said they are cooperating with the investigation but will not comment further.
