Woman facing over 100 charges in relation to string of thefts from cars, mailboxes

CALGARY – A 29-year-old woman is facing over 100 charges in relation to a string of thefts from mailboxes and cars over the last couple of months.

Police say investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Templeby Place N.E. back in February.

There, they found stolen driver’s licenses, license plates, Canada Post uniforms, drugs, and over 1,500 pieces of stolen mail.

It’s believed that the suspect stole credit cards from mailboxes and cars in the area. Then she’d activate the cards and use them, making more than $12,000 worth of purchase.

Police say she would go on to sell some of the items she purchased with those credit cards.

The woman accused of the thefts was charged over 17 offences.

Then again, at the end of April, police searched the temple home to find more fraudulent documents, Canada Post mailbox keys and uniforms, blank cheques, replica firearms, and bear spray. They also found fake license plates, electronics, and drugs.

The same woman was charged with 117 more offences, including theft, possession of stolen mail, uttering forged documents, credit card fraud, and possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 7.
