The 26-year-old is expected to be a full participant in training camp ahead of the 2021-22 season, according to the team.
Monahan’s 2020-21 season concludes with 10 goals and 28 points through 50 games — the lowest goals-per-game pace, and second-lowest points-per-game pace, of his career.
His Flames missed the post-season for the first time in three years, the club currently sitting just outside the North Division’s playoff picture with 49 points and a 23-26-3 record through 52 games.
