EDMONTON – Premier Jason Kenney is set to announce new COVID-19 restrictions in Alberta at an address Tuesday evening.

Kenney’s executive director of communications, Brock Harrison, confirmed the update would come down shortly after 6 p.m. on Twitter.

The premier said Monday that the government was working on new restrictions as the province grapples with surging COVID-19 cases.

However, it’s still unclear what could be included in the next round of restrictions.

There will be no opportunity for questions from the media following Kenney’s address.

Harrison said there will be an update Wednesday morning at 10:30 where media can follow up with the premier, Minister of Education Adriana LaGrange, and Minister of Justice Kaycee Madu.
