EDMONTON (660 NEWS) — Alberta saw a large drop in COVID-19 cases on Sunday, 24 hours after setting a new provincial record.
In a series of tweets, Dr. Deena Hinshaw reported an additional 1,731 cases — down from the single-day high 2,433 the day before.
The positivity rate also dropped from 12 per cent to 10.3 per cent.
Alberta identified 1,132 new variant cases of the virus.
Hinshaw reported three new deaths.
There are currently 648 Albertans in hospital, which includes 155 in intensive care — slight increases for both.
