J&J vaccines arriving in Alberta soon will go straight to Fort Mac, Banff

CALGARY – Alberta is slated to get its first shipment of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines in the coming weeks, according to the province.
Health Minster Tyler Shandro said Wednesday that the anticipated 30,000 doses would be immediately sent to the Rural Municipality of Wood Buffalo, including Fort McMurray, and Banff.
#2: As soon as possible, we will also lower the eligibility age for AstraZeneca & Janssen vaccines to 30+ in those areas, and the Moderna vaccine to 30+ in adjacent Indigenous communities.
This will help more people access the vaccine. All other areas remain the same. 3/7

Shandro tweeted the news, explaining that the RMWB and Banff areas have been particularly hard hit but were not getting the same vaccination opportunities as other major Alberta centres.
The age eligibility in those areas will also be lowered to 30 and up as soon as possible, helping more people access the vaccines.
People in that age bracket in those areas will be able to get the Johnson & Johnson or the Astrazeneca shots.
