Worker rescued after being trapped inside open site in cemetery

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A worker had to be rescued after he was trapped inside an open dugout at a northwest cemetery.

At around 9:00 a.m. Monday, firefighters were called to the Queens Park Cemetery after there was a partial collapse at an open excavation, trapping the worker.

The technical rescue team managed to secure the scene and pull out the worker safely.

He was looked at by paramedics and taken to hospital in stable condition

Fire crews remain in the area with investigators to determine how the collapse happened.
