Police deem Thursday stabbing a homicide, seek witnesses

:A man has died after he was stabbed multiple times early Thursday evening, and reportedly found in an alley downtown.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, police have determined a stabbing on Thursday in downtown Calgary to be a homicide.

Police were called shortly before 6:30 p.m. to an alley in the 1100 block of 8 Avenue S.W.

Upon arrival, police found one man who had been stabbed multiple times, and he was taken to Foothills hospital in life-threatening condition. At around 10 A.M. Friday morning, police announced he had died.

The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Russell David Younker.

Police are now looking to speak to a man and woman (pictured below) who may have information related to the stabbing.

Anyone else who may have any information on the incident is being asked to call police.
