Calgary street sweeping to begin Monday

Spring has sprung in Calgary! The street sweepers will be heading out Monday morning

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — One of the true signs that spring has arrived are about to hit the streets in Calgary.

Street sweeping is set to begin on Monday, Apr. 19 across the city, which means a few annual notes for street parkers across Calgary.

Sweeping trucks will be out and about from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with signs being put out at least 24 hours in advance.

The city is asking anyone who generally parks on the street to figure out when crews will be in their area and to move their vehicles accordingly.

If you’re unable to locate a sign on your street, the City has an easy-to-use web tool that can help you determine when trucks will be coming through your neighbourhood.

Should you leave your vehicle on the street when the sweepers come through, your vehicle may be towed to a nearby area with no expense to the owner.

If there is no close location to which your car can be towed to, it will be taken to an impound lot and the owner will be charged an impound fee.

For more information, a series of frequently asked questions can be found on the city’s website.
