Alberta identifies 1,136 cases of COVID-19, hospitalizations rise to 390

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Over the course of the last day, Alberta has identified 1,136 new cases of COVID-19.
Of the new cases reported on Monday, 679 are of the B.1.1.7 variant.
Variant cases now make up over 51 per cent of active cases in the province.

Hospitalizations rose slightly to 390, a 14 person increase from the day prior, with 90 people in the ICU.
Alberta’s hospital bed capacity now sits at 86 per cent.
Five additional deaths were reported Monday, four of which being people from the Edmonton zone, and one in the Red Deer zone.

Over 177,000 Albertans have been fully vaccinated with two doses.
