Calgary Fire Department saves one man from SE blaze

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — After escaping a fire Friday night in our city, a man is in hospital in critical life-threatening condition.

At around 9 p.m. the Calgary Fire Department was called to the duplex fire in the 6000 Block of 8 Ave SE.

After battling the main portion of the blaze, crews say they entered the residence where they found the man and brought him to safety.

The man was taken to the Foothills Medical Centre, while four other residents were assessed by EMS but didn’t require transport.

Two cats reported as missing have been found and no other injuries have been reported.

Calgary fire is still determining what sparked the blaze.
