Winter weather closes lanes on Deerfoot Trail

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Wicked winter weather is causing major havoc on the roads Friday afternoon.
The poor conditions have forced closures of Deerfoot Tr. between McKnight Blvd. and Memorial Dr.
MAJOR ROAD CLOSURE – Deerfoot Trail between McKnight Boulevard and Memorial Drive is temporarily closed in both directions as we deal with multiple collisions.
Please find alternate routes and take care if you are on the roads. #yycroads #yyctraffic #yyc

There have been multiple collisions on the road, with low visibility and blowing snow.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes if they need to be out at this time.
Calgary police have confirmed multiple lanes have re-opened, but crews are still sorting through multiple collisions and other lanes remain closed.
