Fire crews battle morning fire in Dover

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – It was a big scare Thursday morning for two tenants of a home in the southeast.

A house fire broke out in the community of Dover around 7:00 a.m. leaving the tenants temporarily homeless.

“Our crews did see smoke coming from the home”, said Carol Henke with the Calgary Fire Department. “They did an aggressive interior attack and the fire did originate on the main floor.”

Thankfully, one resident of the home escaped unharmed while another wasn’t in the house at the time.

“There is significant damage such that both tenants will not be going back to the home anytime soon,” added Henke.

The fire has since been put out and the cause is under investigation.
