In a tweet, Dr. Deena Hinshaw said the province completed nearly 11,000 tests in the past 24 hours. Alberta’s positivity rate is currently 5.3 per cent.
With the 13 additional deaths, a total 1,525 Albertans have now lost their lives due to COVID-19.
There are 676 people in hospital, including 114 in intensive care.
On Friday, Alberta’s total number of active cases dipped below 10,000 for the first time in two months.
“Please continue to follow the measures currently in place,” Hinshaw tweeted. “Every action we take can help reduce our case numbers and hospitalizations. Refrain from indoor gatherings, wear a mask in all indoor public settings, and stay home when sick.”
