CPS enforces COVID-19 restrictions, 56 new tickets

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary has been hard at work enforcing COVID-19 restrictions active in the city.

City of Calgary Community Peace Officers and the Calgary Police Service (CPS) say they have handed out 15 tickets to people not wearing masks indoors in the past week.

The number is part of their weekly update on enforcement of some of the pandemic restrictions, which indicates a spike in the number of public health act tickets handed out for things like gathering indoors and holding large outdoor events.

A total of 56 new tickets were issued since last Thursday.

The City says the spike is from CPS as these are tickets given by them at many of the anti-mask rallies outside city hall in Dec.
