How to safely celebrate New Year’s Eve in Calgary

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The City of Calgary will not be welcoming in the new year — and saying good riddance to 2020 — with any public celebrations of fireworks.

However, it does have a number of suggestions for you to get out and enjoy the last day of the year.

On its website, it has a list of outdoor skating rinks, toboggan hills, cross country ski and snowshoe tracks, and regional and community parks that have outdoor fire pits.

You’re reminded to follow public health orders, which include a ban on large gatherings.

Police and bylaw officers will be monitoring city parks and other public outdoor spaces, making sure people are physically distancing.
