Medicine Hat man receives fine for disobeying public health orders

MEDICINE HAT (660 NEWS) – Medicine Hat police have charged a man for having a visitor in his home, against public health orders.

It’s the first such charge laid in the southern Alberta city.

Police were called to the home on Sunday to help EMS with a medical call and found the homeowner had a woman from Calgary with him.

Police then handed the man a $1,200 fine.

They say they only went this far because the man became argumentative and refused to comply with the public health order even after they gave him several warnings.
