Police officer charged after alleged incident at Okotoks dog park

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A Calgary police officer has been charged with assault after an apparent shoving match at a dog park in Okotoks.
The Calgary Police Service (CPS) said it happened on Nov. 30 when two dogs went after each other and the owners tried to separate them.

It’s alleged the officer, who was off-duty at the time, shoved one of the owners.
The officer, a 12-year member of the force, is not on active duty and has been on an unrelated leave since October.
His name is not being released publicly as CPS continues to look into the matter.
