CPS asks for witnesses after pedestrians struck near Westbrook Mall

Calgary police are looking for the driver of a dark sedan that hit two people walking in the southwest early Sunday morning, sending them to hospital.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Police are searching for the driver behind a hit and run early Sunday morning that sent a man and woman in hospital.

The two were struck around 13th Avenue and 37th Street S.W. on the west of Westbrook Mall at around 1:30 a.m.

A 37-year-old man is in critical condition, while a 38-year-old woman is in serious condition.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-coloured sedan that would likely have front-end damage and possibly a broken windshield.

This was the second major incident involving pedestrians in Calgary over the weekend.

Two people were hit and killed Saturday night after a vehicle sped away from a police stop.

In that case, the driver was taken to hospital, and the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating.
