Woman in critical condition after tire flies through windshield on Deerfoot

One woman is in critical condition Monday night, after a crash on Deerfoot Trail sent a tire flying through her windshield.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A portion of Deerfoot Trail has reopened following a serious crash Monday night.

Calgary police said the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Deerfoot between McKnight Blvd. and Beddington Trail, which resulted in a tire flying off and striking a vehicle in the southbound lanes.

One person was pinned as a result of the crash and had to be extricated.

A woman was rushed to Foothills hospital in critical life-threatening condition.
