Eighty-six positive COVID-19 cases at Calgary Correctional Centre

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Fifty-four inmates at the Calgary Correctional Centre have tested positive for COVID-19.

Sixteen inmates who previously tested positive have been released and are isolating at home.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) says 31 staff members have tested positive, as well as one AHS staff member who works at the centre.

One inmate has been admitted to the hospital for monitoring and treatment, and all other positive inmates continue to report mild symptoms.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 49 inmates have recovered from COVID-19.
