19-year-old girl, 48-year-old man charged in sex trafficking of teen girl

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary police have charged a 19-year-old woman and 48-year-old man connected to the sex trafficking of a teenage girl.

The investigation began in March when police were called to the Sandman Hotel in downtown Calgary to check on the welfare of the 15-year-old girl.

Police found the girl had been trafficked by the 19-year-old woman, who introduced her to a man for the purposes of participating in sexual acts, in exchange for drugs and money.

The girl was also sexually assaulted by both the man and woman.

Cheyenne Savannah Madison Lee Schmeikal, 19, and Michael Todd Mazar are both facing a handful of charges in relation to the incident.

Schemeikal has been charged with obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years, sexual assault, trafficking a person under 18 years, obtaining material benefit from trafficking a person, possession of child pornography, and accessing child pornography.

She is due to appear in court on Nov. 20.

Mazar is facing charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, obtaining sexual services for consideration.

He is due in court on Nov. 18.
