Both cases come from the general care unit, one being a patient, the other being a healthcare worker.

This outbreak is the third at a hospital in Calgary with Peter Lougheed declaring one last month and Foothills Hospitals reporting an outbreak in September.
Alberta’s top doctor, Deena Hinshaw, said these cases we’re seeing in schools, retirement homes, and hospitals are largely a reflection of the spread going on in our communities.
“It is important to highlight that we cannot treat this virus as something our health system can easily absorb or something that will simply depart when spring arrives. COVID-19 is here and it’s not going away anytime soon.”
In an effort to contain the spread of the virus, the hospital said visitors will no longer be allowed in the unit except for essential support or for end-of-life situations.
