CPS headquarters reports positive COVID-19 case

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Police Service is seeing an increase in cases of COVID-19 within the organization as infections rise around the province.

On Tuesday, CPS announced the front counter services at Westwinds Headquarters would be closed for deep cleaning due to a positive case.

Deputy Chief Katie McLellan says they have had a few positive cases among their ranks recently.

“We were at seven members who had tested positive last week. We are now at nine,” she said.

“(There is an impact) on other members who are self-isolating and waiting for tests to come back.”

However, front-line staffing levels remain consistent and McLellan says this has not affected their service significantly.

Front counters remain open in Saddle Ridge, Country Hills, and Midnapore.
