Police seek dashcam footage in fatal shooting investigation

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary police officers are asking the public for help as they continue to investigate the shooting death of a 20-year-old Friday night.

Police say the man was brought to the Peter Lougheed Centre after 9 p.m. with a gunshot wound. He later died of his injuries in hospital.

“There was some sort of altercation take place,” said acting Ins. Lee Dunbar on Saturday. “I’m not sure the relationships, type of thing.”

Officers are asking that anyone with information or dashcam footage relevant to the investigation come forward and contact police.

Investigators believe the shooting may have occurred near 84 Street and McKnight Boulevard N.E. between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday night.

An autopsy for the victim is scheduled for Monday.
