CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The RCMP have charged a Calgary police officer for an alleged domestic incident outside the city.

The 13-year veteran was arrested on Oct. 8 and has now been charged with assault and mischief to property.

The officer was off-duty at the time of the incident but no further details have been released.

“Domestic violence is a serious issue and we offer many supports to our members to try prevent it,” said CPS in a release.

“Our Psychological Services Section has licenced therapists available to members and their families, as well as outside professional help if specialized marriage or relationship counselling is required.”
