CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary fire department had a busy Saturday morning as two separate fires broke out across the city.

The first was an apartment fire in the city’s southeast at around 7:20 a.m.

The fire department told CTV the building was evacuated before their arrival. The apartment’s sprinkler system managed to put out the fire that is believed to have started on a mattress.

The second incident occurred in a residential area on Centre Street N.W. when a utility trailer caught on fire.

Crews were quick to contain the blaze, extinguishing it before it spread. It caused burn marks on a nearby fence.

Nobody was injured in either fire. Crews continue to investigate.
