Calgary Catholic school board cancels Provincial Achievement Tests

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – There will be no Provincial Achievement Tests (PAT) for Catholic schools in Calgary.

Alberta Education confirms the Calgary Catholic School Division has cancelled the tests this year due to the pandemic.

“We are aware that Calgary Catholic Separate School Division has chosen to not administer Provincial Achievement Tests this year,” said Spokesperson for the Education Minister Colin Aitchison.

“School authorities have the ability to decide if they administer PATs this year, as participation is optional for school authorities for the 2020-21 school year.”

The Calgary Board of Education said it’s reviewing its options regarding PAT’s and will announce its decision next week.
