TSUUT’INA NATION (660 NEWS) – Schools in an Alberta First Nations community are now closed due to COVID-19.

The Tsuut’ina Nation announced late Monday night that schools and administration offices have been closed until further notice after a COVID-19 infection was confirmed from a recent community gathering.

“We are going above and beyond to limit the threat of COVID-19 in our community,” The Tsuut’ina Nation Communications department said on Facebook.

“Those who were exposed have been contacted for testing at this time. We urge all community members to get asymptomatic testing if you have any risk of being exposed by community spread.”

The notice did not say how many people could be affected by this recent exposure.

As of Oct. 2, the Tsuut’ina First Nation has reported just one active case of COVID-19 with eight people having recovered.
