Canyon Meadows School under COVID-19 watch

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Another Calgary school has been placed under a COVID-19 watch.
Canyon Meadows School in the southwest joined St. Wilfrid Elementary as the only schools in Calgary to receive the declaration from Alberta Health Services (AHS).
A watch is issued with five or more cases have been confirmed at a school within a two-week period.

Right now, it’s not clear exactly how many cases are at Canyon Meadows School and if the infected people are students or staff.
According to Support our Students (SOS) Alberta, which has keeping a daily tab on COVID-19 cases in public schools, 44 schools are experiencing outbreaks while four schools in Edmonton are also under a watch.
As of Monday, 160 schools have reported at least one case of the virus, about 53 of those schools are in the Calgary area.
