Body of drowned Calgary man found after almost two months

LAKE LOUISE (660 NEWS) – The body of a Calgary man who was presumed dead on July 25 has now been found.

On Sunday, Rocky Mountain House RCMP along with Alberta Conservation officers found the body of the 23-year-old Calgarian on a remote island west of Abraham Lake.

The man was hiking the Glacier Lake trail in Banff National Park in July when he and two other stopped for photos beside the North Saskatchewan River.

He slipped and was presumed to have drowned.

“Our thoughts continue to be with the family at this time,” read the RCMP release.

The man’s name will not be released out of respect for the family.
