PONOKA (CityNews) – Ponoka RCMP have arrested a women after a social media meeting resulted in a kidnapping.
Two men were originally arrested for a beating, kidnapping, and robbery, while the woman, Amber Knickle, was charged but remained on the loose.
According to police, a 22-year-old Slave Lake man who was involved with online communication with Knickle met up with her early in the morning on Sept. 7.
The pair had been speaking for a year but never met.
When the man got into her vehicle that night in Ponoka, two men inside the allegedly beat him, while armed with a gun.
Throughout the night, police said the two men and woman drove him to several banks and forced him to take out money.
They stole his truck and cellphone and dropped him off in Blackfalds.
