Dr. Deena Hinshaw said approximately 12 students from a Grade 1/2 combined class and seven staff members will need to isolate at home for 14 days.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is investigating in collaboration with the school and the school board and will determine if there needs to be more protocols brought in.

Hinshaw said, at this point, there is no evidence that they will need to change to a different learning model, or that other staff and students are at risk.

Across Alberta, there have been 78 cases of students or staff in school while infectious.

Around 57 schools have reported an infectious case while attending the school.
